New 'After Earth' Trailer: We Still Can't Figure Out Will Smith's Accent

In a dystopian, futuristic, sci-fi thriller about a father and son's struggle for survival, you'd think we'd have more pressing matters to discuss other than the main character's accent. But seriously, Will Smith, what is up with your accent?

All strange speaking patterns aside, the newest trailer for Smith's After Earth just the hit web, and it offers up even more high-flying action as well as a closer look into the tense father/son relationship at the center of the movie. Is this just a regular case of tough love, or is there something deeper causing the strain?

Directed by M. Night Shyamalan (meaning there is obviously going to be some big twist... or maybe the twist is that the unhospitable, dangerous planet is Earth all along?), After Earth is set 1000 years in the future when humanity was forced to evacuate Earth and they reestablished mankind on the planet Nova Prime. Light years away from Earth, humans managed to rebuild society. Kitai Raige (Jaden) must navigate a now-abandoned Earth to save himself and his estranged father, General Cypher Raige (Will), after their ship crashes and they are the only survivors.
